Situated very close to the great barrier reef and about 24 kilometres from Noumea, right in the middle of a marine reserve to which it has given its name - you have to visit the Amedee Lighthouse.

The lighthouse was lit for the first time on 15th November 1865 . It is 56 m high (almost 20 storeys high), with 247 steps.
